When we drafted him, a lot of people stereotyped him for dogging it and not trying hard. So far, there has been no indication of a slacker.
Marreese Speights comes to play and all was evident last night when the Sixers trounced the visitings Suns 108-91.
Coming off the bench and playing 24 minutes, Speights scored 24 points on 11-16 shooting, with seven rebounds and two blocks.
On the season in 47 games (two of which were starts), the rookie is averaging 8.1 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game in 15.5 minutes per game.
Why isn't this guy in the Rookie Challenge? You got me. He deserves it.
He can definitely be in over Portland's Rudy Fernandez.
Either way, look for Mo Speights (literally) on the floor as this season goes on. If the Sixers really push to make a run for it, he is going to be a big factor in that happening.
