Tra Thomas, Carlos Ruiz, Sean Jones, McLaren Out, Phillies and 76ers...Oh My

So...yeah...we've missed a crap load of news here at "South Broad Street" over the past couple of days.

First off, which is the most recent news, Tra Thomas has agreed to terms with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Donovan McNabb is now the longest tenured Eagle, but unless the Birds get weapons, that won't be for long.

Hey...the Eagles have signed safety Sean Jones. WHO CARES! The deal is worth $3 million over one-year.

Recently acquired defenseman for the Flyers Kyle McLaren failed his physical and is out of town. WASTE OF OUR TIME!

The Phillies lost to the Braves 7-2 yesterday due to another poor outing from Carlos Carrasco. Can we cross this guy off of the fifth starter's contentions list?

And, with possibly the most embarrassing news for last, the 76ers lost last night in Oklahoma City to the Kevin Durant and Jeff Green—less Thunder 89-74 to fall to 30-31 on the season.

If I didn't have so much to do with the ALL-PHILLY TEAM balloting I would analyze more, but that might come later.

In Light Of This Depressing News...

...the Flyers got an extension after the 3 p.m. deadline and traded away a sixth round draft pick to the Sharks for defenseman Kyle McLaren, who played in their minor-league system this year.

McLaren is not that small, at 6 feet 1 inches and 230 pounds.

We'll see if this pans out to be any significant pickup. I'm still trying to get over that awful trade Homer made earlier.

Philly.com has this up on their Flyers Page

I'm going to really miss my boy Scottie. This is not right.

Philly.com wouldn't run this picture for their health if Scottie Upshall wasn't beloved by the fans.

OK...It's Been Confirmed By Mainstream Media...F***!

This was not even a good deal. I'm so pissed off. Ed Moran of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.

Notice the tags being switched around on this one. Now, it's Scottie Upshall and Carcillo. If you haven't been able to figure it out, current player's tags are just their last names. Players from other teams (usually who I would call outsiders, but my boy Scottie is no outsider) get their full names. I don't know why I do it like that. I just do. I know, it's weird, but just the way I do it.

OH F*** HERE WE GO AGAIN

Why is the700level.com reporting that my favorite player on the Flyers, Scottie Upshall, got dealt to Phoenix with a 2009 second round pick for Daniel Carcillo and no other MAINSTREAM media site is seconding that?

If Upshall is dealt, that will be the second time in the past two weeks that one of my favorites (and this one is my No. 1 favorite) going to other teams.

Ugh...this pisses me off. And if it is true, it's not even a good deal anyway.

Upshall, the feisty little guy and a potentially good second round draft pick, for another Riley Cote? Cmon Homer, what in the hell?
