The question was which Eagles move over the summer was the most exciting. The results went as followed:

Drafting of Jeremy Maclin: 2 votes
Trading For Jason Peters: 1 vote
Signing Stacy Andrews: 0 votes
Getting Rid Of L.J. Smith: 1 vote
Other: 1 vote

What's the other?

Poll Results For The Week Of 5/3/09

The question was which Phillie have you enjoyed watching the most so far this season.

Raul Ibanez got three votes and Shane Victorino got on.

I am totally not surprised about that. Rauuuuuuuuulllll has been awesome. Also, I'm not shocked about Victorino either. He has been a real joy to watch, especially with the nice hitting streak he put together.

Poll Results For The Week Of 4/26/09

The question was why do the 76ers have a problem selling out the Wachovia Center for big games.

The results were:

The Economy: 1 vote
The Post Iverson Era: 2 votes
The .500 Nature of the Club: o votes
This City Just Doesn't Really Get Excited For Pro Basketball: 1 vote

I like that nobody voted for the third option. It shows that it doesn't matter what our teams records are and that we still follow them no matter what. I understand that the post-Iverson era has caused a drop in attendance and that the economy doesn't help the 76ers cause. I really hope the real reason is not the fourth option though. The fact is, the NBA is one of the four major sports in this country. We are fortunate enough to have a team in each of those four leagues and all four are actually located in our city. I would hope people care about pro basektball. I care about it.

Poll Results For The Week Of 4/19/09

The question was what chance do you think the 76ers have to win this Orlando series?

76-100 percent: 0 votes
51-75 percent: 1 vote
26-50 percent: 3 votes
0-25 percent: 1 vote

I think the three votes for 26 to 50 percent came after they won a game or two. Hopefully they can pull it out. I personally agree with the results. I think it is a 50-50 thing because if they do what they have to do: stop their three point shooters and make shots on the offensive end, they can win this series.

Poll Results For Week of 4/12/09

The question was which team are you following the most closely now.

76ers: 0 votes
Flyers: 3 votes
Phillies: 1 vote
All Three Teams Equally: 0 votes

Me personally, all three teams equally in their own way. I am a "four for four" guy and whether a team's season just began or is at risk of concluding, I'm going to follow each. That's why Friday night I had the Flyers on television and the Phillies on the computer with MLB.TV at the same time, with the TV on the top of my dresser and my computer sitting in one of my dresser drawers.

But, I understand why the Flyers got the most votes. It's a shame the 76ers aren't getting any love. Honestly, I feel they have just as good a shot at this point to beat the Magic as the Flyers do on coming back against the Penguins after being down 2-0.

Poll Results For The Week Of 4/5/09

The question was where do you think the 76ers will finish in the Eastern Conference Seedings.

4th Seed: 0 votes
5th Seed: 1 vote
6th Seed: 3 votes

It looks like with the schedule they have left and how they are currently playing, they might not even finish sixth.

Poll Results For Week of 3/29/09

The question was based on each players' spring training performances, who do you expect to have the best April.

Jimmy Rollins got two votes.
Chase Utley got one.
Ryan Howard got one.
And Raul Ibanez got one.
Everyone else didn't receive any votes.

I honestly don't know. With Pat Burrell gone, the guy who usually has great Aprils, I don't know who to pick for this one.

Poll Results For Week of 3/22/09

The question dealt with your interest in the start of the Phillies season on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest, in light of the Flyers and 76ers playoff push.

The results were:
1: 1 vote
2: 0 votes
3: 0 votes
4: 3 votes
5: 1 vote

I can understand these results. Me personally, I am at 5 because I am such a "4 for 4 guy" that I'm pumped for any start of any season no matter what the other teams are doing. But, I can see how some people are not 100 percent excited since both the Flyers and 76ers, more specifically the Flyers, are gearing up for hopefully a long playoff run.

I am surprised though that one person is excited, or lack there of, on the level of "1." I mean, whatever works for you is fine, but I would just assume that since this team just won a World Series there would be a little more excitement on your behalf. But, like I said, whatever floats you boat. I guess it's just a matter of different strokes for different folks.

Poll Results For Week of 3/15/09

This past week's Poll of the Week was should the Spectrum be torn down and the results are:

Yes-2 votes
No-2 votes

Talk about undecided.

Poll Results For Week of 3/8/09

The question was which of these people do you want to see leave the Eagles the most.

Here are the results:
-Andy Reid: 0 votes
-Donovan McNabb: 1 vote
-Tom Heckert: o votes
-Jeffrey Lurie/Joe Banner: 2 votes

I guess since the page is so clustered people really didn't vote as much. These Wild Card ballots will be gone soon.

Poll Results For Week of 3/1/09

This past week's question dealt with whether or not Brian Dawkins signing with the Broncos was about money.

The results were:
Yes: 5 votes
No: 1 vote
The Eagles had no intention of keeping him to start with. They were just pulling our leg: 3 votes
Undecided: 0 votes

Well, it's safe to say our voters were definitely not undecided.

It is also safe to say that the Dawkins departure was about the money.

But, the votes between "Yes" and "The Eagles were just pulling our leg" are pretty close. Personally, I feel the Eagles did want him, but really insulted Dawk with their initial offer. That's why he didn't call them back. I honestly feel if the Eagles first offer was two years instead of one, or three years instead of one, Dawk would have at least called them back after he heard Denver's offer. Or, even better, he would have been satisfied with two or three years and signed with the Birds right away.

However, it just wasn't meant to be.

Poll Results For Week of 2/22/09

This week's Poll of the Week was what scenario is most likely for the Phils heading into April.

-Both Chase Utley and Pedro Feliz will be ready for Opening Night: 1 vote
-Just Chase Utley and not Pedro Feliz will be ready for Opening Night: 3 votes
-Just Pedro Feliz and not Chase Utley will be ready for Opening Night: 2 votes
-Neither of these two currently injured players will be ready for Opening Night: 2 votes

It's a close one, but most people think Utley and not Feliz will be ready for the first game. I agree with that one.

Poll Results For Week of 2/15/09

The question was who people think the overall best quarterback in Eagles franchise history is.

I'm not even going to list the options.

Donovan McNabb won in a landslide, collecting 11 out of 11 votes.

If that is the case, someone please explain to me why a lot of people want to run him out of town?

Like and said and obviously by the way this poll shows, Donny is the best quarterback in franchise history and any replacement is a step down.

Poll Results For Week of 2/8/09

With the Phillies season nearing upon us, the question was which 2009 giveaway would you like to have the most. Here are the results:

Phillies World Championship Pennant Flag: 3 votes
Charlie Manuel Bobblehead: 3 votes
Jayson Werth Blanket (even though only for women 15 and up): 2 votes
Brad Lidge Bobblehead: 0 votes

I am actually very surprised by these results.

A. I'm surprised only eight people voted in what should be a fun poll that team history intelligence doesn't matter.

B. I'm surprised the Brad Lidge Bobblehead got no votes. Hello...this guy did just help us win a World Series.

But hey, sometimes things take you by surprise. So, the people have spoken and these are the two items you want the most.

Poll Results For Week of 2/1/09

The question was which almost championship season of recent history is most memorable to you. Out of 17 votes, here are the results:

1993 Phillies: 1 vote

1997 Flyers: 3 votes

2001 76ers: 2 votes

2004 Eagles: 11 votes

I am not surprised with the results. The 2004 Eagles are the most recent and the Eagles alone are probably the most beloved team overall in this city.

Also, I can assume that most of the people who follow this blog are about my age, so most of us were still in elementary school when the Sixers played the Lakers, were in second grade when the Flyers were in the Cup, and were merely 5 or 6 years old when the Phils gave off that improbable run.

I would like to know though who voted for the Phils. Is it someone who as a matter of fact is older or someone, who like me, loves the '93 Phils and is a Philly sports history buff?

Personally, even though I didn't vote, my most memorable season is the 2001 Sixers.

I was too young for 1993 so I didn't really live through it.

The 1997 Flyers, while their run was great, leave an awful taste in my mouth because they got swept in the Cup Finals and never really competed.

And the 2004 Eagles should of won that game versus New England. Take away some of those turnovers we had and we're holding up the Lombardi Trophy at the end.

But, the 2001 76ers overcame all of the nay-sayers, won the East and went to the Finals. No one expected them to beat the Lakers, but still, they came out with that great Game 1 victory.

In the end, the true team we really love and devour is the 2008 Phillies.

World Champs!

Poll Results For Week of 1/25/09

This week's poll question was: If you could spend the day with one Philadelphia sports head coach, who would it be?

Tony DiLeo: 1 vote
Charlie Manuel: 11 votes
Andy Reid: 2 votes
John Stevens: 3 votes

Uncle Chuck won by a long slide. He dominated the field, which is not surprising. He is by far the most interesting of all four guys and would without question be fun to hang around. Charlie is just a real human being. He is not caught up in all of the glamor and glee of professional sports. He speaks his mind and everything he says he sincerely means.

He is not like John Stevens who mumbles his words. He is not like Andy Reid who doesn't say a damn thing. I don't know Tony DiLeo well enough. He is too new.

I am surprised Stevens came in second though, but then again, not really.

Even though Stevens seems quiet and uninteresting, nobody can be as boring as Reid and, like I said, we quite frankly do not know enough about DiLeo to want to spend the day with him. I am sure if Maurice Cheeks was still coaching he would get more votes than DiLeo.

For the guy who did vote for DiLeo, I would like to know your reasoning behind it, if you don't mind leaving that on the message board.

As far as all the Charlie-ites go, here is some footage on our favorite skipper.
And then, this is a giveaway the Phillies are going to have at one of their games.
No...not the trophy...haha. It is the bobblehead. Isn't that coolest bobblehead you have ever seen?!!!

Poll Results For Week of 1/18/09

The question was with the Eagles being done, what do have to look forward to the most?

-The Flyers quest for a Stanley Cup: 7 votes
-The 76ers "quest" for an NBA Championship: 0 votes
-Pitchers and catchers reporting to spring training: 2 votes
-Other: 0 votes

So, it is pretty obvious that everyone is looking the most forward to the Flyers quest for a Stanley Cup Championship.

You guys have spoken and done so decisively this week.

What is the biggest key to today's game?

Pressure Kurt Warner to no end: 8 votes
Continue to have a balanced offensive attack: 1 vote
Protect Donovan McNabb from a resurgent Arinzona defense: 0 votes

Poll Results

Out of the 10 votes for our Eagles poll this week, here are the final results:

1. Keeping Brandon Jacobs to minimal yardage-2 votes
2. Flustering Eli Manning-2 votes
3. Having a balanced offensive attack-2 votes
4. Protecting Donovan McNabb from the Giants defense-4 votes

So, No. 4 is our winner. But, I think everyone would agree that in order for the Eagles to play in Arizona next week, all four of these HAVE to happen.
